Have you noticed the trend 'girl math'?
It just makes me so angry - here we go again. The notion of something stupid and irrational being branded as girly, just casually making the belief that ''smth stupid must be equal to women's brain'' ironclad and completely accepted. Why? Why is it acceptable?
We have so many women in STEM fields, it is clear that there is nothing illogical about women making decisions, why is it that it's so easy for people to run with it? And obviously it's mostly women making posts with this.
Again, wild misogyny just globally accepted.
I hate it.
Yes, and its dissapointly women who say this cringe term. It gives the whole "girl is cute and quirky because shes dumb" vibe.
Oh man I was wanting to talk about something I saw on TV recently that was weird and related to this. I usually watch TV to decompress (I limit myself) and saw one of those public PSA commercials, not selling anything but the kind that remind people not to smoke. Well this one started off with typical stereotypes about women being bad with money. They went off about the typical "women bad at money, women spend too much, etc", right? And the main idea of the commercial was to encourage women to challenge the stereotype and save more, spend less, "Challenge the stereotype". But isn't this already a backhanded insult at women? Who exactly are we challenging to change their opinion of women spending money? Women already earn less... if women are spending it's typically because we NEED to.
I can't remember the organization or whatever it was aired from but that was a dumb PSA I thought. Insults women, trying to empower women to save money but not the actual problem of women not making as much money like idk what they were trying to get at.
its almost as annoying as "her face card never declines"... it feels so gross to me.
The whole girl math thing is moronic. Do y'all know how surveyors used to measure land? Average step length. Mark off 100 feet, count how many steps it takes you to traverse it, repeat 3x to get an average, go walk what you're wanting to measure. It's not exact AT ALL.
Yet this is how property lines, acreage, etc have been measured out by men for CENTURIES. More projection from these idiots.
Unpopular opinion: I find some of it useful like the cost per usage of an item. It certainly helped me level up my wardrobe and not be afraid to spend on myself. At this point, I think I’m much more aware of my shopping tendencies.
