Women in Afganistan are not allowed to speak to one another!!!
Not only are they fully covered, not being able to recognise one another, they can't even talk to each other!
They are also not allowed to go to school and university, while at the same time not being allowed to be checked by a male doctor.
Where are the protests? Where are the celebrities calling this out and condemning this?
So often we are splitting hairs in the west while we are missing out on these issues due to "cultural relativism" or whatever.

i feel so bad for the afghani women, the Men there are so fucking ugly, useless and evil. They have to force Women to be with them. This is so disgusting. Dismantle the patriachy in all forms, all the patriarchy does is harm Women and treat Women as expendable. I hate the conservative, right wing movement so much. It does nothing but destroy Womens lives.
the problem i have with modern western men that think america should adopt afghan or taliban religion is middle east is horrible - the men that ARE in control of that region are lazy, don't build anything, they're dirty. Like if you want to control women, at least let it be for a reason the women are being controlled for nothing over there the men aren't building beautiful houses, plumbing, just sand.
I saw a videon on YT where a middle east city has no more women and it's just men laying about. Ok they have a world without women so they still do nothing? lol no one to control and still no improvement in quality of life. Here in america, men are taking on the trades but I see nothing fixed. I just drove home and drove over hundreds of pot holes. Where are the tradies?? Why are buildings and bridges crumbling? I thought men fix broken things? Why they wanna control my womb and they can't even offer a benefit for the control!!!
The life of Afghan women is almost like the life of vegetables, but the worst thing is that these women are fully conscious. It makes me so sick and agry and helpless.
Thank you for highlighting cultural relativism. In the push to reinforce shared human dignity, multicultural promoters in the West mistakenly act as though cultures are basically the same with different trappings. This oversimplifies and glosses over real differences in belief systems. We should be able to criticize aspects of cultures while respecting individuals’ humanity.
A person won't change unless they want to, why would a culture? Some kind of seismic internal shift would be needed to reform Afghanistan. I am convinced it would take a miracle.
Does anyone know of a trustworthy charity that still does work in 2024?
Amid all the trends of women's rights being taken away all around the world , we need an international solidarity of women from ALL countries.
I agree with you on the western celebs not giving a damn about it. I witnessed it back in 2017 where we made a petition to save little girls in Tunisia from child marriage, and asked women from different countries to sign, the only women who refused to were the american ones and their excuses? "We need to care for own issues first" Like ...ok but when Trump got in power in 2016 we all stood up to support them, but when the roles inverted, somehow we don't matter.
My heart goes out to them. I want them to be free.
I would love it if there were laws prohibiting EVERYONE from speaking or singing in the streets.
