Hi queens, I found more extremely high-paying jobs with high-paying skills that ALL WOMEN should try to infiltrate ASAP. If you are not a STEM person (I made a post urging women to go into STEM), PLEASE consider entering these occupations:
-Job #1: private equity (PE) associate to Managing Director / Principal / Partner -> PE is different from investment banking because it involves less Excel / mindless slides and pitch decks and more decision-making around the allocation of capital and the buyouts of different public companies / business units of public companies. "Women make up only 12% of managing directors and 16% of principals and partners in investment roles at private equity firms, new research from McKinsey shows. And among the most powerful PE investment decision makers – Investment Committees – less than 1 in 10 are women." - Forbes
**women must climb the career ladder for PE since we are underrepresented in the highest rungs of the PE career ladder
Wall Street Prep shows the salaries for workers in PE: *just a note that PE does have 60-hour workweeks, BUT if you are like me who is childfree and ambitious, this is still for you
Job #2: Futures, Forex, or other Trader; Zippier shows the startling gender gap below:
-the average compensation for traders is very high, with top traders making well over 7 and 8 figures a year. The key to doing well in trading is NOT GIVING UP, a.k.a. treating it like a business and investing in your skills + persevering for at least the first few years. Then you are bound to make multiple six figures per year. The good news is all the tools you need are on the internet — you do not need an advanced degree for this work.
💯 Finance/securities sales is a solid field for women who want to make bank. My bff is in I-banking broadly and one of her managing directors got sacked for taking clients to a strip club, which was against bank policy.
I believe one of the main reasons women's numbers are low in STEM fields in my country is that many of them are private companies and these have poorer maternity leave rights.
Obviously, not all women want children, but this is a factor that affects women only.
There will only be true equality when all fields offer equal maternity leave provisions.
This is why in some Nordic countries you see more women working on oil rigs, as engineers, in professions dominated by men in other countries.
You need to be coming from money to do those jobs.
Sure you can't just finish school and get hired as PE 😂
I'm pretty sure it's one of those jobs only for wealthy family kids.
To trade something you need money to buy something 😄 Easier to get in, than PE, but there's a bias - people, who are not good at it, quit once they've blown their money. I've known someone who did it, she retired at 40.
I tried trading forex and noticed I was the only woman in my discord group. However I didn't commit to it properly and got very bored of it. I really have a lot of trouble finding a high-paying career path that doesn't bore me to tears...but maybe I'll go back to playing around with currency, it could be fun sometimes.
Is there any other resources to read about a career in trading? I've never considered this as a possibility, I'd love to read more about it!
