I’ve been with the same company for Over 5 years now and don’t feel like there is much room for upward mobility or significant pay increase. I am also so desperately over having a ‘boss(s)’. i want to make my own living and be independent. does anyone have any recommendations for career coaching or professional mentorship or anything of the like? I want someone who can help me step up my resume, flush out and put my skills on paper and help me put together/shape what next steps can look like if I were to start Transitioning and stepping into something where I am my own boss. Thank you!

I would like to suggest visiting with your local Workforce Center. They offer job search assistance, will help you with your resume, and have various programs and workshops at no cost to you. Some of those programs offer scholarships for target occupations, which may help you reach your future career goals.
If you feel comfortable emailing me your resume I’m happy to help. Feel free to send me a DM.
The audiobooks "how to ace your phone interview" and "interview tips I&II" audiobooks by Peggy McKee literally changed my life and got me some really great jobs. The book Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office (and others) by Lois P Frankel, long time career coach of women Also, just try to have the audacity of a mediocre white man. I'm serious. It works for raises, promotions, and not feeling bad about yourself for taking a sick day or vacation day. Even during popular time slots like Christmas. Stop feeling so bad about yourself that you aren't perfect. Have the audacity and confidence of a mediocre white guy.
I'd also suggest looking into the industry you want to be at (or are currently in) for networking opportunities. If circumstances allow, I'd recommend job hopping too. Honestly, loyalty is not rewarded and it's often a case of squeaky wheel gets the promotion/raise. At least until you have the connections and financial backing to start your own business. Best of luck in the level up journey!
If you've graduated from uni, check if they offer career services for alumni. I know mine does. You can also find career info online. If you want something more interactive, you can always attend a career development MeetUp.
