Any women work in finance/specifically investment banking or private equity? This is my dream as it is a top paying job, but I have heard terrible things about the misogynistic cultures in high finance. Thoughts on this case? If this woman spent 5 years on active duty and graduated from an Ivy League, and STILL had to experience this, then there is no hope for me. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to break into banking without having to deal with distractions? I can’t have my career derailed by any predatory male behavior.

my dad said that recently at his job (warehouse), two young women were sexually harassed by a coworker and they reported it to HR. The women quickly got let go and all HR did was bring the offending coworker to HR to "talk" with him. According to everyone the women should've had "evidence" or wrote a "report"... however- that warehouse my dad works at prohibits their workers from having their phones on them due to the nature of the company and it's a physically laborious job where they don't have easy access to documentation tools. WTF were the women supposed to do? I really don't understand how everyone that heard that story from my dad blamed the women for not turning super natural and stopping time to document everything "properly".
Its such a quandary:
Be nice and they get pervy
Be straight face and they complain about not being welcoming and lack of peoples skills
Reporting mens abuse to men is kinda pointless
I’ve caught men masturbating before, once in his car and the other in the office next door to a former employer…luckily they didn’t see me. They I saw them. These sick fucks are everywhere and unfortunately a lot of them are in charge. It’s risky to run to HR without evidence and hope your word against his prevails. It’s better to gather evidence slowly. Record conversations( check state laws), save emails, involve witnesses. Get a lawyer and then sue for a settlement and a reference. I got a guy fired a couple years ago for sexual harassment too. I had 3 witnesses and it took a corporate investigation…and he was not well liked overall. It may not have gone in my favor without those variables on my side.
What the hell??? A woman gets fired for seeing a man involve himself in sexual conduct. This man was masturbating at work. Masturbating in public spaces should automatically get you to be registered as sex offender. He should be in jail. This is fucking sick and vile. The poor woman is probably traumatized too
