Hi all! I recently you found out about Eventbrite's webinars, conferences etc. Just yesterday my friend bought us tickets to this zoom webinar on male violence and how it's a systemic problem. It was following the book launch of Laura Bates, "change the system, not the women". I'm not UK based but my friend is and we've both been revolted at the blatant violence against women from the past couple of years and his is been swept under the rug. We thought we lived in safe places but oh no, we don't, it's a jeopardy, especially how it's treated by state officials. Appaling. Not as if they do a much better job in my country. I mean, mine's worse but I think media is trying to downplay how bad it is because they're all channels and publications owned by very corrupt men. Men protect other corrupt men.
I've discovered plenty of other webinars and feminist themed sessions and what's cool is that I can attend with friends and we can have a Q&A session right there. It gives us a sense of involvement and it strengths out friendship.
Our next stop is a conference regarding the harms of surrogacy (I'll attend online) and it's a pretty badass take on ethics, laws & sociology. And then we will attend a free webinar on prostitution and prostitution buyers in the light of the Nordic Model that incriminates the buyer (the John) but not the prostituted woman (we're both against prostitution).
I think attending together with a friend such a conference or webinar gives you a lot of food for thought, helps both of you to get level on your feminist ideals, weeds out the pickmes😅 or helps them open their eyes, especially when you're miles away.
Anyway, here are some of the links to sessions I will attend online:
The surrogacy conference (is not free but it's like £11 for online attendance, conference is 4h+):

On the Nordic Model by Nordic Model Now! (prostitution, against human trafficking, women's rights, labour movement, feminism)- free:

I would love if any of you would recommend other platforms with such webinars, conferences, master classes etc. Or topics of interest. ✌️💜🤗
Thanks so much for sharing these. I get emails from Eventbrite sometimes, but I haven't seen these. I need to curate my interests so I will get better suggestions from them. I would love to attend an online event for Laura Bates' new book. It's so timely.
I get these eventbrite invites from one of the "left" book publishers i follow (I think I'm on their email list or something). I would strongly recommend the "Probably Canceled" podcast. Its a radfem (not radlib!) Podcast and she also occasionally uploads political talks. We have a real lack of "educational entertainment." I remember when documentaries used to be regularly on television and there's almost nothing like that anymore.
Apologies for all my typos and bad grammar 🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️I write on my phone and my autocorrect is out of control. My language nice is bilingual and at times it inserts words from my mother tongue or changes sentence structure. I swipe to type 😅😅 so my posts usually look pretty bad. Sorry about that ✌️
