Kill this culture. This man should have been murdered or be spending DECADES in prison. Not 8 years. He's happy he got out early. He's happy he got to do it. He wants to do it again. He loves that the victims' families were enraged. But since he came forward and was "honest," he gets pats on the back. He's not rehabilitated. He's probably still raping women and is just smarter about it. This is why FDS has a political wing. Rape is a joke to men. I remember when I was growing up, my stepdad, who clearly never had to deal with being around men who wanted to rape him (or anyone who wanted to rape him) would talk about how rape doesn't really ruin a woman's life. Hint: it actually fucking DOES. Further update: OP describes religious friends refusing to have anything to do with him after he intentionally ruined two womens' lives as "turning on him."

And here we have the reason why sex crimes of any nature should come with an automatic life sentence without parole: Rapists do not change, ever. Temporarily imprisoning them does not work.
If something is wrong enough with your brain to do something like this, a few years in jail won't cure that. Protecting society from people like that should be more important than redeeming them or their "human rights". What about the human rights of their next victims? Do they not matter at all?
I can come up with a reason or motivation that would make me say "I understand why you did that and empathize even though I think it was wrong" for pretty much any sort of crime - including murder - except for sex crimes. Rapists are not redeemable. If people behave like rabid dogs and are a danger to society, they need to be treated like the rabid dogs they are.

The gratitude in some of the responses for him answering their questions makes me feel sick. And the women who refer to themselves as 'female'. Eg, 'I'm a female, and really I should hate you but I'm actually thankful for your honesty'. 🤢

This is why it enrages me when rapists, molesters, rapists and other men that have committed such vile acts are either never imprisoned or go to prison, only to get to come out because of their "good behaviour".
For me, such men should be executed. They are scum and beneath animals. They are warped beyond measure and are highly abnormal. Why people think prison "habilitates" these degenerates is beyond me. People's character is very much fixed after age 10 and remains constant forever. A rapist remains a rapist. A murderer is a murderer. A cheater is a cheater. That's why the famous phrase "a leopard never changes its spots" even exists - because it speaks to people remaining the same in thought and action forever. That's why men who we give a second chance to, do the same thing that ended the relationship in the first place.

I read an article that said the programs where reformed abusers/rapists talk to other men about why they shouldn't be abusers/rapists not only don't work, but it causes the reformed abusers/rapists to start abusing/raping again. As soon as they start getting attention and praise for something they're doing, it triggers narcissistic behavior, makes them start trying to impress the abusers and rapists they are talking to, and start thinking they're hot shit and can get away with anything.
Which is exactly what is happening here.
