How long should I wait for him to message me first after matching on OLD?

I am in my 30s and matched with an age-appropriate man on OLD yesterday. How long should I wait for him to message me for the first time?

If he hasn’t messaged me within three days, should I unmatch?

Sorry if people have posted different versions of this question on this forum.

Yeah if a man matches with you and hasn’t messaged you in three days, it sounds very reasonable for you to unmatch him. He’s not entitled to unlimited access to you. If he was eager to get to know you, he’d reach out quickly. If he leaves you sitting on the back burner, he’s probably casually dating around, and not interested in pursuing you. Don’t allow yourself to be just an option to a stranger.

24 hours tops, but the most eager men don’t wait longer than a couple hours.

I didn’t write him first, so I’m not waiting for his “answer”. I would never message a man first. That would be dead against FDS rules.

But yes, I think three days is the absolute maximum for waiting for a first message.

I was in your boat three years back when I still used OLD apps. Guys were matching with me, but they never responded. I just deleted them because I thought they were weird!

Omg FDS gives me so much insight. I get it now. They were working their way towards me lol
