He no longer cares about her and probably wants her to leave. In addition, he’s probably too comfortable, and he knows she’s in a position to not leave.
He knows that whatever he horrible he does, she won't have the courage to leave.

Got it. So it's code for "I don't want to be with you, but I'll let you make the first move to leave".
Why in the world would someone tell their s/o something like this?… even if true, what benefit is there in telling them unless they enjoy psychological torture?
If shes dumb/unfortunate enough to be shacked up with this tool (i stand my ground to NEVER shackup before marriage idgaf what anyone says) then this was his exact plan of action. If not, then.....gurl ditch this fuckhead

A relationship isn't about being too afraid to leave someone.
If either of them thinks that what relationships ARE, then maybe they need to do some soul work.
A man should be afraid to fuck you over, but should t be too afraid to leave...
Isn’t that a good thing? It means he’s finally over his relationship anxiety.
That could result in him dropping his mask and behaving in awful ways, and most men will when they get to that point yet a relationship where either party is constantly afraid of losing the other person is not one that is going to work out.
You’re not misinterpreting.

He might feel overconfident that you won't leave him. Boy, is he wrong, lol.
