How does Johnny Depp’s attorney sleep at night knowing that she made out a millionaire and promoted, while Amber is in debt, and fears for her life and the safety of her child’s life?
I think this is how lawyering in general works? I am not a lawyer but had someone explain to me that in court- nothing is personal. You have to do your job, defend your client to the best of your ability and navigate the legal process. As a lawyer, her personal views do not hold any bearings on the case. Of course this is a very idealistic view of the profession and yes she could have refused the case. Also from what I know many firms always prefer to use female lawyers when defending a man like this- which kind of gives the man more credibility when a woman is defending him. Fucked up system tbh
@TaintedLove What I mean is that humanity has always been judgemental, willing to humiliate each other and abuse. Or else stuff like the patriarchy and corruption would never even exist.

She did her job perfectly in that now male celebrities can sue their rape victims 🤡. What a lovely lawyer she is. I hope that doesn't come to bite her in the ass since she works in a male dominated space. Notice how male lawyers don't have to go through cases where they have to tear male vitcims down (who are vitcims) which will effect the rights of the rest of the male population because of the precedent it has set. She's a horrible woman, stop excusing her actions, it's like saying the Madam (the head lady in charge of her sex workers) isn't reaaaallly exploiting women and lowering their quality of life because it's her joooob and she doesnt truuuuly believe what she is doing is right.

Some of these comments disturb me. If women are going to do exactly what a misogynistic man would do, what's the difference? It's actually more insidious because they put a woman's pretty face on misogyny in a court of law, and makes it easier for everyone to accept it as natural and just.
Just because it's the way things are doesn't mean we have to participate. (I do understand that some people aren't in a financial place to say no or make another choice, but I don't think that's the case here.) This is another reason why being financially sound is so important. Money is power. If we have financial stability, we can say no.
Women campaigned against women's voting rights.
Women campaigned against the ERA.
Women are still campaigning against women's rights to this day, and we see the results from it daily. This is nothing to shrug off.
I feel very disturbed about her conduct during this case. Especially when she was cross examining Amber. She just made partner at her firm, but I do not respect her for it.
Unfortunately that's how the justice system is. The law firms often prefer female lawyers to defend violent males. And as a lawyer, you have to believe that everybody deserves a representation. It sucks.
Let's hold off on judging a female attorney for doing her job. She was hired (at a very high rate most likely) to do the best job she could. The jury convicted Amber. She may be a great lawyer but she certainly didn't have mind control over the jury. The evidence showed what it did: a very toxic relationship for two people who probably should have never gotten married. Like myself, you likely saw the evidence of all of the drug use going on in those residences, which do not lead to healthy relationship dynamics. Maybe Amber's lawyer (also a woman if I remember correctly) messed up. Should she also be lambasted?
@edwardianemerald it's not judging, it's stating facts. She did hug and show affection instead of remaining professional and she did issue excessive objections. It is emotionally abusive to join in the game of the bully and tear another person down, silence them with excessive objections, question thoughts to make a person feel unworthy, make a person's feelings seem unimportant, constantly interrupting, talking down to and refusing to listen to a person's thoughts, opinions and feelings, making a person feel invalidated, worthless, unheard, bringing up issues weeks, months and years too late and then repeatedly bringing the same issues up to create drama instead of communicating early and resolving the issue and moving on, telling a person they are too sensitive when they bring a genuine problem to attention to resolve, questioning a persons memory of events and denying something was said or done and saying it's in your head, you're paranoid or imagining events. The jury were falling asleep, they should have had a closed court, in private but aul Johnny filed his lawsuit in Virginia, with every detail made public to air. It was not filed in California where they both live. Virginia has a weak anti Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation law that does not protect free speech.
Meh, she was just doing the job she was hired to do. And if you work for a firm, you don’t always get to pick your clients. I’m more skeptical of all the female depp stans harassing herd online for free.
UPDATE: Now that I’ve watched more of the trial (avoided watching it cos it made me too angry), specifically clips of Camille cross-examining Amber, I take it back. She’s absolutely vile. I’m so glad the tide is turning, and I hope the people who got Camille’s face tattooed on their body are given endless amounts of shit about it for the rest of their lives.

I cannot help but think about this as well
