I want a basic pair of jeans or pants with actual functioning pockets, for everyday wear. Here are my requirements:
Pockets deep enough to fit a phone
Fit over hip dips. This is a big one for me because all the jeans I've ever had are either loose above the hips or too tight above the hip dips
Don't slide down. This has a lot to do with the number above. It would be a bonus if I don't have to wear a belt
Can squat in them comfortably (I don't want to dread picking up something like I have in the past)
For petite sizes! A lot of jeans are made for women 5'4" I think so the legs end up too long for me haha
Mid rise. High always goes up over my belly making bending forward uncomfortable, and low rise... well...u already know lol
All suggestions are welcome! Thank you if you read this far.
Honestly fuck jeans - I stick to sweatpants and dresses. Jeans were just not made for women's bodies.
Columbia hiking pants are the most comfortable pants I own. Pockets, stretchy, fit my very short ass. Not good for dressing up, though.
Go to a retailer like Macy's, JCP, or Kohls (or a Levi's store if you have one) and find your Levi's fit. I have longer legs than average so I struggle to find jeans that are long enough and need to get them in Tall sizing which is hard to find. Levi's has a fit for everyone and has them in both Tall and Short. I prefer the high-rise super-skinny but I'd recommend finding the fit that works for you. Their website will also break down which Levi's number is which so you can know ahead of time what you might be looking for to try on.
I have a jeans problem too, small waist and wide hips- the brand I’ve tried that specifically makes jeans for this is Peachay. But they’re high rise, not mid.
There’s another new Australian brand called Chute 9, but I don’t know if they ship OS. They’re Australian woman owned and Aussie made, for women’s bodies.

I got a pair of black trousers from Ted Baker. They had large pockets, were mid-rise and had a belt as well. They were more for work. Comfortable and attractive on. I’m not a 👖 person as I don’t find jeans comfortable at all. I either own nice hoodies with matching joggers for quick errands or dresses, leather leggings, skirts and trousers for everyday wear. If you want jeans then I recommend Levi’s or Good American. Those are the only good quality ones that last for a long time and when I had them, I loved them but still found jeans uncomfortable 🥴
