Finished the episode today! I actually really liked it. I agreed with all of it. What Meghan was saying was lots of things that are talked about on fds.
I don’t see the problem with her on the podcast? Like I get she seems more conservative but I also think the left has gone insane and regular lefties seem “right wing” now. She’s probably more of an old school left.
Also I don’t see the problem with having women of different backgrounds and opinions on, as long as they’re feminist and pro woman.
She gets a lot right in this episode.

a regular, old school leftie. that is actually a great term. i think i am in that place too, i just didn't know how to articulate it. thank you, nw i know what to call myself. i agree modern left is completely lost. it's so sad.
Yeah it’s what I’ve been calling myself for the past few years now lol

i'm listening to it right now and i'll write my impressions on the go:
casual/anal sex
i agree with basically everything they said. i really wish people would understand that women and men are built differently and we simply cannot do things the same way they do. i think some of the listeners take offense on the "having sex like men" part due to the profound control patriarchy has over the female sexuality. do we even know what true female sexuality is like, given we have spent our entire lives being indoctrinated into the male point of view of what sex should be?
i've talked to women who claim to enjoy anal sex to understand what they find so appealing about it. they said they enjoy pleasing their partner and/or the clit stimulation (which needs to be done with hands during the act), so Meghan isn't wrong, you know... women have no prostate, therefore anal sex isn't something anatomically pleasurable for us. she says women are more likely to have an orgasm with a serious long-term partner than with a stranger. this explains the pleasure women derive from anal sex. i guess meghan sounds a bit contradictory... perhaps she meant to criticise anal sex in the context of casual sex, because the whole thing is just a scam to make women serve male sexuality.
she makes great points about how sex isn't really casual and it can be dangerous to women. so we should not do what we want inconsequentially to defy patriarchy because that isn't defying patriarchy at all.
consent
i completely agree with her point about consent. she talks about the emotional context of the decision to consent and i totally get it. i have consented to sex without the actual desire to have sex, and it took a long time to understand what happened and why i felt violated even though it wasn't rape. so that aspect of consent should be discussed more.
bdsm and porn
"they're not fantasizing about having sex with you. they're getting off on being violent towards you" - from host Diana, and it sums up the entire thing.
and yes, it's amazing how far women will go to be a "better sexual performer" and please men, to the point of being in danger (think choking and other violent acts during sex). makes me livid!
Diana also says that lately she can't feel attracted to any man, it's so rare. and then meghan says it's the same for her. and now i'm here thinking "OMG SAME SISTAS!!!!". then they talk about how men expect sex after a few minutes of superficial interactions and it's so blergh! AGREED! and all of that is a consequence of porn rotting the male brain. it really shows when you know what red flags to look for.
what men do for sex
men will lie a lot and work HARD to have sex with you. that is why we have a whole set of vetting rules. dating is not trivial and we cannot be spontaneous. and it's men's fault (my words, not the podcast's haha).
conclusion
i'd say i'm in the same place as megahn with men and relationships: no, thank you. i don't want men in my life right now, i don't need them, i don't miss them. she says it's very peaceful and that's exactly how i feel. i won't trade that peace for anything.
I haven’t listened yet! I do like strategy episodes but I also really like feminist centric ones alot. I think there’s only so many things to discuss with dating strategies.
Megan Murphy is controversial but I still agree with her about certain things. I listen on Spotify and you can leave comments on the episodes. I saw this episode has a few and they’re angry that she apparently spoke negatively about trans women and she’s a SWERF apparently. Those views are the same views that many women on here hold.
So I’m interested in listening to this episode on my commute today and hear for myself how controversial her takes were.

> I think there’s only so many things to discuss with dating strategies.yes!! after a while, the rules just seem so clear that i don't feel the need to keep repeating them or listen to people repeat them.
there is always so much at stake for women in dating. feminism is the basis on which we must build our strategy.

How are you seeing the comments? I can't see them. Do you need to do this on desktop?
Wtf? I haven't heard it yet, but Meghan Murphy is a right wing, dick pandering troll. Shes right about a lot of stuff, but I don't want her anywhere near fds. I don't trust her.

Which Meghan Murphy interview are you referring to?
