I always send my food delivery drivers detailed instructions to leave the delivery in front of my door. This 1) helps them leave it in the right building and on the right floor after they get permission from the front desk since I live in a building with high security and 2) allows me to maintain no contact with any drivers that could possibly be unsafe (I have encountered a few).
I am not sure why I found this a bit unsettling, but usually drivers simply say ok and thanks and follow my directions. Today, however, I received some weird "jokes" from the driver in response.
He kept texting me even when I didn't respond to the first time he sent the joke, adding emojis and whatnot. It may have just been in a light hearted tone, but sending this to someone you don't know, a complete stranger, struck me as very odd especially since it could be taken as condescending possibly. I may just be sensitive in this case but...Idk.
How would you react to this? Would this bother you? Or am I just being humorless?
I feel like this is just one of those times men think they are being funny because they are so use to courtesy laughs from women trying to be nice.
I order door dash constantly, and never had a driver makes jokes like this. It would've off putting for me, but idk how red flag it is? But then again, males will literally use any avenue to reach a female so maybe he's one of those.
I would report him to doordash, he seems a bit unhinged.
This seems harmless right now but it’s better to report him to doordash Just in case.
Ew. I'd be skeeved if I got those texts unprompted. Especially since you clearly ignored him and he kept going like that.
The fuck?! That “joke” doesn’t even make sense. This is very weird. I get doordash all the time, and with the exception of one old guy who “didn’t do elevators”, no one’s had any problem leaving it at my door. The only followup text I get is a picture of the food at my door.
These texts would weird me out too. You did the right thing ignoring him.
I've known a couple dashers. They try to have some sort of interaction w the customer bc it increases their tip and possibly their rating.
And one of the scrotiest men I've ever known was a dasher. He had no idea how to properly interact w ppl.
