I have met many men and women who exhibited road rage. I do not have road rage myself, and I was OK with their road rage as long as the rage was only verbal or mental, not physical.
What surprised me about these people was that some of them were very easygoing in all other aspects of life. They were patient, caring, and soft-spoken with their friends, family, and coworkers. The road rage seemed totally inconsistent with their character.
What is the FDS stance on men who have road rage? Is it a red flag? An immediate block and delete?
It depends. Having a (slightly) emotional reaction to a truly dangerous situation is normal, I think, as long as it's just verbal, over quickly and doesn't escalate. An example would be loudly saying "What an idiot!" when somebody cuts you off or overtakes you in a dangerous way or something. Yelling at people, flipping them off or anything worse than that and not calming down within a few seconds is a no go.
Men road raging whilst driving, with me in the passenger seat subjected to his reactive reckless driving? That’s abuse. Immediately dumped, blocked, deleted the moment I got to safety.
Most of the time I’d say it’s a red flag. If it’s an emotional response to someone being stupid or dangerous, I’d let it go. It can be scary when that happens.
If they’re driving crazy and road raging all the time, he probably has anger issues and I would say it’s a red flag!
I confess I Sometimes cuss at another driver if they cut in my lane or something, Id tolerate that. Completely losing your cool, getting agitated or even driving recklessly yourself is a no from me and indicator of other bad behaviour.
Road rage makes me feel very unsafe, so yes. Especially when it's out of character for them. I also hate yelling. I don't mind getting a little irritable or worked up or using a "mild" swear word like "idiot", but that doesn't qualify as road rage to me. Anything more than that is an instant no.
Road rage is OK for women, but not OK for men. We all know that males are the violent, aggresive sex, and women are more or less harmless, even when we're mad.
It is to me
Yes
If it sticks with words then it's not really a red flag but if he gets out to beat the other driver then that's a problem. One time I honked at a dude who didn't obey the traffic rule and he got annoyed saying "Whore" and I said "f@ggot"
