im looking to crowd source the placement of my shiny new FDS sticker. It’s nice and big and bright! I don’t put stickers on my car so that’s out but I want to spread the word about FDS subtly and especially to high school girls in my town. This isn’t super serious, I’m having fun thinking of how I can reach the most girls. Last year, I printed out 150 copies of the QR code with “boy problems?” above it and taped them to the back of all of the stall doors I could find. They stayed up for a few weeks so I hope maybe I reached some young minds before they get indoctrinated into the porn sick pickmeishas. I’m an FDS evangelist, lol.
I work for the school district I might find myself in the following areas:
High school girls locker room- various mirrors and stall doors. Getting painted now, so it will probably stay up a while if I find a less obvious spot. Still want it to
be seen though.
Regular high school bathrooms- inside the handicap stall? Door or wall? Mirror might get removed too soon. Back of the main bathroom door?
Football stadium bathroom- not all of the girls go to the games, also lots of parents and local non students may see it as well.
Performing arts center bathrooms- these are huge and have tons of stalls so picking one wouldn’t be ideal. Also probably more likely to be removed bc open to the public. I could also smack it onto the glass case for the main bulletin board near the library or on the back of the main STEM entrance or maybe on a main gate outdoors.
Open to any and all ideas, let’s have fun with it!
I probably won’t date again in this life but I really believe in what is being built here- I really believe it’s the best version of feminism available to women and girls right now.
Some local shops will let you leave flyers/leaflets too, as well as the libraries. I don't have any better advice to give than this but I just wanted to tell you I love what you're doing!!! <3 Wish so bad I'd found FDS in high school!!! What a different life I'd have now.
I've thought about this a lot in comparison to other underground movements where it was dangerous to "out" yourself. Harvey Milk comes to mind, where he advocated for people in the not-straight community to share their orientation with their friends and loved ones. The thought being, if these people truly love us, they will accept us, and they will be more accepting of LGBTQ+. FDS seems to trigger insecure men. They get irrationally upset that we have standards and won't tolerate their nonsense. That doesn't protect us against violence, though. What lessons can we learn from Harvey Milk? Should we be leaving traces of FDS everywhere we go, like tidbits of handbook advice on cafe bulletin boards without linking to FDS? How about bulk order the FDS crown stickers without the FDS branding, and spend a year placing them *everywhere* before following up next year with FDS-branded crowns? Geurilla advertising will be good to brainstorm. Does anyone have experience?
I hope that you are careful and are aware of any video cameras when you put the stickers. Thank you for what you do
-Casinos -Malls -Bars -Subway Stations Have fun!
Personally I'd be too scared to get a FDS sticker because I'd be scared I'd get murdered.
